Day 1: Colombo

We are at your service on arrival at
Colombo
International Airport. We will meet & assist you at the
airport. And transfer to a hotel in the capital, Colombo. |

Evening we can drive around the city of Colombo - Galle Face
green, colonial old parliament building, Town Hall, & if the
time permits a visit to
Kelaniya Royal Temple
of splendid paintings. |

Day 2: Colombo / Pinnawela / Dambulla / Anuadhapura

After breakfast, we leave for
Anuradhapura
(437 BC-845 AD) via Pinnawela
Elephant Orphanage & Golden Dambulla Rock
Temple (76 BC-1778 AD). |

Orphaned elephants of all ages from baby elephants to
elderly matriarchs are adopted at Pinnawela
Elephant Orphanage. And they breed in captivity too. We
will see them fed in the orphanage & bath & play in the
nearby river.
Golden Dambulla Rock
Temple. The king who found sanctuary in these rock caves in 1st
Century B.C from the Dravidian invaders from South India
converted them into a monastery upon regaining his kingdom.
This is home to more that 150 magnificent Buddha statues &
numerous paintings. |

Day 3: Anuradhapura / Mihintale / Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura.
A sacred city. The first capital of Sri Lanka founded in
the. City Tour includes. We will visit Isurumuniya rock
temple, Golden
Sand Stupa, Sacred Bo-tree, the Brazen - Palace, Samadhi
Buddha Statue, Abhayagiri
Stupa, Twin Ponds and Jetavana Dagoba. |

Mihintale is the first decaled
wildlife sanctuary in the world & you will find the ruins of
the first recorded hospital in the world. A Buddhist
monastery with Stupa, rock caves & ponds on the summit of a
rock climbed by way of magnificently carved stone stairway.
Conversion of Sinhalese to Buddhism by bhikku (monk) Arhath
Mahinda, the son of Emperor Asoka of India took place
herein. A sacred site. |

Day 4: Anuradhapura / Polonnaruwa / Sigiriya
Day 5: Sigiriya / Matale / Kandy

Kandy the Royal City,
(1469-1815 AD). |

The Lion Rock
Citadel, Sigiriya (479-496 AD) was built in the period of 7 years
from 479 to 485 A.D. This World Heritage Site has Asia's
oldest surviving landscape garden. Boulder gardens, water
gardens and terrace gardens leading to the stone stairways
through Gigantic Lions paws. Magnificent frescos of
celestial nymphs are tucked into a pocket of the rock. |

We will visit a spice garden at the city of Matale which
grows herbs for Ayurvedic medication & Spices of Sri Lanka.
Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring
merchants. |

P.M. We will visit art and craft centre and Gem Bureau. |

Day 6: Kandy

We will visit Udawatte Kele Sanctuary &
Peradeniya Royal
Botanical Gardens. |

En-route, we will visit the
Peradeniya Royal
Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, one of the
finest in Asia. Located in a loop of River Mahaweli, it is a
place of beauty and site for bird watchers. |

Stillmore we will pay a visit to The
Holy Temple of the Tooth, one of the holiest Buddhist
temples in the world. It was built in the 16th Century A.D.
solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic. We will
witness & enjoy the magnificent Art & Architecture of
Kandyan era of the history of Lanka. We will also go on a
city sight seeing tour of Kandy
around the man-made lake & visit to Art and Crafts Center. |

Day 7: Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After Breakfast leave for
Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya, the misty city is located at 5960 feet above sea level. |

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Road is one of the most scenic roads in Sri Lanka. We will
be driving along a winding ascending road amidst seamless
tea plantations covering hills from top to bottom to skirt
the road all the way up to the destination interspersed by
cascading waterfalls. |

Arrive in
Nuwara Eliya ("Little England"), a world away from
Colombo with its fresh wintry atmosphere with gardens, lawns
& meadows. The cottage type bungalows and the hotels & guest
houses of colonial architecture & landscape are supplemented
with luxuriant green spaces of Golf Course, expanse of Lake
Gregory & birds of Victoria park. |

Day 8: Nuwara Eliya / Horton Plains / Nuwara Eliya

breakfast to the The World's End.

Horton Plains
National Park covering an area of 10,000 acres is
situated 7200 feet above sea level. We will have one of the
greatest nature trekking through plains, water springs
(which are the starting points of many rivers) by the side
of rhododendron Giant fern & crossing brooks now & then, &
then to the worlds end which is a steep precipice. It's a
magnificent site down the valley & all the way to the
southern coast. We will trek along to Bakers Falls too. |

Day 9: Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Ruhuna Yala National Park

Having taken the breakfast at Hotel, we leave for
Ruhuna Yala National Park. |

Ella: En route we
make a stop at Ella Grand Hotel to enjoy the view of the
famous Ella gap, Also view the beauty of the Ravana Falls as
you descend to the low lands. |

Day 10: Ruhuna Yala National Park

P.M. We will be on a Safari tour by jeep with a jungle

Day 11: Ruhuna Yala National Park / Kirinda / VOC Galle Dutch Fort / Bentota

Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Bentota via Dutch Fort at
Galle sea port. |

Kirinda, a small but beautiful ancient beach village. |

VOC Galle Dutch Fort,
a World Heritage Site is one of the best preserved Dutch
forts in Asia. The Dutch Governor's residence built in 1684
was converted into New Oriental Hotel in 1863 & traded under
the name for 140 years. In 2005 it was fully renovated,
restored & branded an Amana resort by the name Amangalla.
Situated close to the Amangalle is the oldest Protestant
church in the country, "Groote Kirk" built by the
Dutch. We can view the sunset on the rampart of the Fort.
The visit to the Fort at the port would definitely be an
unforgettable colonial experience. |

hatcheries set up to protect turtle eggs till they hatch &
mature enough to get into the ocean. |
