Ambience: no nonsense, though the dwellings are luxurious, you are right in a village. You can have a bath at the well as if you are a humble peasant. You can enjoy a traditional village by the lagoon drink of Kirala, a mangrove tree botanically identifies as Sonneratia caseolaris at the dining pavilion overlooking the paddy fields & marshy lands. A ramp from the dwellings takes you to the sprawling lawn at the edge of the river. All these are among the bounty of bird life of Sri Lanka Holidays. Kurulubedda means the Woods of the birds in Sinhalese.
