Setting: Back to the nature. Then again, not any other nature, but Sri Lanka Holidays nature, that would never cease to amaze you all. A serene boat ride of ten minutes in a short waterway off river Gingganga takes you all to the luxury boutique hotel on a quiet village patch off the river, secluded deep inside a spread of mangroves.

Accommodation: In 3 acres of land are the two luxury private dwellings built on stilts consist of bedroom suite, a spacious plunge pool & large terrace with relaxed seating arrangement. Sri Lanka Holidays Jetwing Kurulubedda is a luxury eco-retreat extension of Sri Lanka Holidays Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel & Spa at Galle.

Ambience: no nonsense, though the dwellings are luxurious, you are right in a village. You can have a bath at the well as if you are a humble peasant. You can enjoy a traditional village by the lagoon drink of Kirala, a mangrove tree botanically identifies as Sonneratia caseolaris at the dining pavilion overlooking the paddy fields & marshy lands. A ramp from the dwellings takes you to the sprawling lawn at the edge of the river. All these are among the bounty of bird life of Sri Lanka Holidays. Kurulubedda means the Woods of the birds in Sinhalese.

The setting of Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel

Architecture of Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel
Designed by illustrious Geoffrey Bawa, one of the foremost Asian architects in the Twentieth century, Lighthouse hotel is an admirable work of space and light: open spaces, verandas, courtyards and balconies. Interior Décor of Lighthouse Hotel
The first impression of the interior décor of Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel is a long lasting one. The out of ordinary grand spiral staircase at the end of the reception is set up with a masterpiece of art: the metal sculpted balustrade depicts the arrival of Portuguese in Galle in the year 1505 & battles and giving the battle to Sinhalese, The balustrade runs all the way up where, what would have simply being a handrail, at inferior level of interior deco. Walking up the feature staircase and reaching the lobby on the upper deck all you can hear is the sounds of Indian Ocean breakers crashing onto rocks; all you can see is the sights of Ocean and ocean breakers. The open spaces within the hotel buildings are complemented by near minimalist quality of wooden furniture bolstering the feel of spaciousness. The rooms brilliant with primary colors are airy, spacious and set up with unique interior deco and with a touch of minimalist concepts.

Ambience of the Hotel
The fort like appearance of the hotel, its outstanding spiral staircase lined with sculpture featuring Portuguese landing at Galle and battles against the Sinhalese and definite Mediterranean undertones exudes a touch of history.
